Espresso Bar
#5b3f34
Deeper espresso brown-orange, less red than cocoa
About Espresso Bar
Espresso Bar is the brown you notice when the room lighting drops, but the screen still reads clean. It's deeper than Brunette without sliding into Chocolate Escape's cocoa-dust softness. The saturation sits higher than Chocolate Escape and Death by Chocolate, but the undertone stays firmly warm, like roasted beans rather than caramel syrup.
I use it for product UI where you want a background that feels grounded and inviting, not cooked and flat. Think ecommerce landing pages, packaging windows for coffee and bakery brands, and dark-mode panels in health and fitness apps where text needs breathing room. Compared with Brunette, it carries more weight. Compared with Death by Chocolate, it feels less red and less "smear," more polished roast. It's the one you reach for when you need warmth with restraint.
Pair it with oat, bone, or a slightly cooler greige so it doesn't tug toward red, and avoid next to very weathered browns or it can look overly deliberate.
