About Orb of Discord
Orb of Discord reads like a muted, mid-deep purple with a slightly smoky edge. It's not the magenta punch of Fuchsia Nebula and not the cleaner, brighter lift of Extraviolet. Compared to Intergalactic Settlement's drier satellite-ink feel, this one is rounder and a touch more saturated, so it lands more like a "held breath" violet than a desk-lamp shadow.
I use it for dashboards and finance apps when the accent needs to look intentional without flashing hot. Think active filters, tag pills, and hover states in analytics consoles, plus key controls in streaming media layouts where you want emphasis to sit behind the interaction, not compete with it. It's the one you reach for when purple has to feel composed, and the UI needs a richer undertone than the cooler violets.
Pair it with crisp grays and deep neutrals. On very warm backgrounds it can start to feel slightly earthy, so keep the surrounding tones neutral or cool.
