Ironside
#7e8082
Softer mid gray with iron-toned neutrality for UI balance
About Ironside
Ironside looks like a brushed steel panel that's been used for a while, not freshly painted. Compared to Aluminium, it's a touch lighter and noticeably less saturated, so it doesn't feel as heavy or assertive. And next to Abandoned Spaceship, it stays steadier, with less of that cool, mid-distance drift.
I use this as a calm, workhorse gray when I need surfaces that hold hierarchy in enterprise UIs without turning icy. Think settings pages, admin tables, and the muted backgrounds behind dashboards for operations and logistics. It reads as deliberate but not tense, which is why the one you reach for when you're mixing dense content with neutral chrome. If you're also working with Beautiful Darkness, Ironside sits lighter and a little more grounded, so text feels less pressured on secondary cards.
Pair it with charcoal or deep slate for headings, and keep accents either warm neutral or clean blue-gray. On its own with mid-tone borders, it can start to blend.
