About Grey
Grey is what happens when you stop trying to be anything else. It's not warm like Concord, not dark like Black Mana, not carefully balanced like Argent. This is pure desaturation without apology, a gray that sits completely neutral, doesn't shift based on neighbors, and won't be mistaken for anything with a temperature.
You reach for it in interfaces that need to disappear: dark mode editors, financial dashboards, content management systems where the work matters more than the stage. Unlike Concord's inhabited feeling or Argent's intentional presence, Grey asks nothing of the user. It's the background that actually stays in the background. Type reads cleanly. Saturated elements pop. It works equally well with cool blacks and warm accents without forcing a conversation.
The catch: it can feel blank if you're not careful. Pair it with strong type weights or accent colors that know what they're doing, or it'll read as unfinished rather than restrained.
