Old Silver
#848482
Dusty cool gray with subdued, metallic restraint
About Old Silver
Old Silver reads like a slightly dusty, weathered metal sheet. On my monitor it comes off cooler than the warmer sand-leaning grays, but it's not as airy or softly misted as Lunar Base. Compared to Jumbo, it feels less midtone-heavy and more restrained, with a muted, silvery calm that keeps panels from looking heavy.
I use it when you want quiet structure without that clean, true-neutral snap you get from Argent-style grays. It's a great fit for dashboards and finance apps where the chrome, grids, and table headers need to stay legible through long reviews, especially in fleet ops and retail logistics portals. It also works well behind video annotation lanes and waveform side rails, giving edit teams a surface that doesn't fight the content.
One quirk: because it's cooler and more desaturated than the nearby office grays, it likes a touch more contrast on the strongest labels, otherwise UI states can look a bit muted next to crisper backgrounds.
