Purple
#800080
Balanced medium purple with aubergine steadiness for headers
About Purple
On my mockups, Purple (the one you get from that classic ink bottle vibe) reads as a mid-depth plum that stays decisively pink underneath. It's less bruised and compressed than Hello Darkness My Old Friend, and it doesn't lean royal or hat-on-pink saturated like Royal Purpleness. Compared to Grapest, it's a touch more violet-leaning while keeping a clean, legible "pink first" identity, not that open magenta breathiness.
I use it as a balanced accent for light and dark mode, especially when the design needs confidence without sliding into the shadowy tones. It's great for media systems where selection states and tag pills need presence on hero pages, and it works well in beauty and wellness UI for step highlights, promo callouts, and secondary CTAs that still feel feminine. This shade is also my go-to for onboarding surfaces where you want emphasis but not the heavy authority of the darker pinks.
Pair it with warm charcoals or neutral creams; very cool grays can make it feel like it's bracing instead of leading.
