Mecha Metal

Mecha Metal looks like the skin of a machine that's been warmed up, then left idle: a medium gray that holds its cool but never feels lifeless. Compared to In the Twilight, it's less dusk-soft and more matter-of-fact. Compared to Dusty Chimney, it's cooler and cleaner, with less friendly warmth. And next to Abandoned Spaceship, it's steadier and less "between states."

I reach for Mecha Metal when you need a neutral surface that won't read either heavy or fussy: table shells, admin panels, and dense settings screens in logistics, education platforms, and healthcare portals. It also works well for component backgrounds and sidebars where you want the UI to feel assembled, not theatrical. If Dark Ages is your anchor, this is the secondary metal you can put under typography without the layout sinking.

Quirk: it can feel a touch muted beside near-white surfaces, so give it crisp borders or a slightly stronger text tone to keep edges from blending.
