About Pedigrey
Pedigrey is the gray I see on a worn office filing cabinet, not quite flat, not quite fogged. It's a mid-light neutral gray with a low-key softness, so it reads calmer than Argent, but it doesn't drift into the slightly muted, smoky feel Nickel can have.
Compared with Mithril, Pedigrey feels a touch more resolved and less "gentle" on first glance. I use it for dashboards and finance apps where the UI needs to stay legible without going sterile, especially in billing consoles, ops reporting, and analytics layouts for media platforms. It also works well in newsroom or post-production review rooms for timelines and data panels where you want panels to recede, yet the interface still feels anchored. This is the one you reach for when you want neutral presence, not the cooler surface vibe of Nickel and not Mithril's softer settling.
Pair it with slightly brighter whites for section headers so text doesn't lose edge against the haze of the background.
