Gull

Gull is the gray that sits just slightly lighter than it reads. It's got enough warmth baked in to feel approachable, but not so much that it tips into beige territory or feels lived-in like Cement Feet does. This is the shade that works as a neutral without feeling cold or corporate about it.

Reach for it in long-form reading interfaces, patient portals, and settings pages where you need something that doesn't fatigue the eye but also doesn't disappear. It's warmer and airier than Chain Mail, so it won't anchor space the same way, but it's got more presence than Bank Vault, it actually sits on the screen instead of just getting out of the way. Unlike Cement Feet, which has a perceptible brownish pulse, Gull stays quieter and more balanced. It's the middle ground that actually feels like a choice, not a compromise.

Pair it with crisp type or saturated accents. The softness can blur into mid-tones if you're not careful, but that restraint is exactly why it works for interfaces where the content needs to breathe.
