Purple Ink
#9a2ca0
Cooler royal purple with inked, medium depth
About Purple Ink
Purple Ink looks like a fresh purple that's been slightly dampened by shadow. It's more violet-leaning than the hotter magentas around it, and it doesn't read ink-wet or "scorch" the way Magentle and Magentleman can. Compared with Haunted Purple, it feels cleaner and more forward, less velour-matte and less weighed down.
I reach for it when the UI needs a true purple cue with a steady hand: review and approval flows in fintech, brand-safe notification states, and media editor emphasis for selected clips or keyframes in video and music tools. It's also my pick for category tags and section headers where you want attention without tipping into the confident magenta clarity of Magentleman. The mood is focused, a little cool, and controlled, which is why it works harder than it looks.
Quirk: on very pale grays it can turn flat, so pair it with deeper neutrals or richer text tones to keep that violet edge crisp.
