Tahini Brown
#9b856b
Nutty, softer tan-brown for gentle yellow UI contrast
About Tahini Brown
Tahini Brown has that quiet, toasted comfort you notice on a paper bag after it's held warm pastries. It's not as tan-dull as Gramps Shoehorn, and it doesn't lean as drink-spiced as Mulled Cider. Compared with Gazelle, it feels a touch deeper and more sepia-leaning, with a softer, earthier calm instead of that cleaner sun-warmed lift.
I use it when the layout needs to feel grounded without going orange-brown, especially in food and hospitality UI where backgrounds and panels sit behind type all day. Think menu card surfaces, receipt and confirmation headers, booking step navigation, and editorial sidebars next to warm beverage photography. If you want the closest, pantry-warm neutral vibe but with less "label-ready" brightness than Gazelle, this is the one you reach for when you want color that works harder than it looks.
Quirk: on very pale creams it can read heavy. I'll pair it with a lighter neutral base or a slightly cooler text color to keep hierarchy crisp.
