Fat Smooch
#c1537d
Saturated berry-red for bold highlights, less fuchsia
About Fat Smooch
I think of Fat Smooch as a red that looks like it's already had its edge sanded down. It's not mauve-leaning like Cabaret, and it's not dusty-sweet like Candied Apple. Instead, you get a mid-light, confidently saturated red with a slightly cooler undertone that reads more "ink on glass" than "warm fruit juice."
In interfaces, this is the one you reach for when you need a primary action that still feels friendly in the periphery. I use it for dashboards and transaction screens, especially when alerts stack up and you want the important button or status to stay legible without turning wine-dark. It's also a good fit for healthcare admin workflows where the rest of the layout is calm and you need one red moment that won't slip into pink.
Quick pairing note: keep it next to clean grays or near-neutral whites. Against very peachy backgrounds it can go a touch more pink, which is fine, but it's not the same crispness you get with cooler neutrals.
