About Ephemeral Blue
Ephemeral Blue is what happens when you pull gray just far enough into cool territory that it stops feeling like compromise. It's got genuine blue underneath, not enough to read as a statement color, but enough that it doesn't flatten the way a true neutral does. Sit it next to Gliding Feather and you'll see the temperature shift immediately; next to Blue Silk, it's noticeably less warm, more deliberately cool.
This is the gray you reach for in dashboards, healthcare platforms, and fintech tools where a secondary surface needs backbone without personality. Card backgrounds, form fields, disabled states, sidebar containers, places where neutral isn't quite enough but you can't afford to add visual weight. The blue lean keeps it from reading like nothing. It holds a layout together without demanding attention, which is harder than it sounds.
The thing: it sits lighter than A Dime a Dozen but with more saturation, so it won't vanish against white the way some cool grays do. Pair it with dark text and darker UI elements and the undertone becomes an asset. Push it next to warm grays and it'll read distinctly cool by comparison. That's the trade, it's the one color here that actually takes a side.
