Lime Zest
#ddff00
Soft chartreuse lime for fresh, legible highlights
About Lime Zest
Lime Zest looks like a freshly squeezed peel caught in midday sun, but cleaned up for screen: it's lighter than Green Ooze, with none of that slightly swampy, drying-paint feel. It also sits tighter and calmer than Atomic Lime's near-constant neon punch, and it avoids Golden Ginkgo's soft sun-yellow warmth. This one stays clean, high-saturation lime with a more neutral-lime undertone that reads alert without turning sour.
I use Lime Zest when the UI needs fresh attention that doesn't tip into "warning" territory. Think farm-to-table menu highlights, sustainability dashboard callouts, and badge dots for wellness flows. On media sites it's great for map callouts and editorial section tags against cream and butter tones, where the nearby yellows can start to feel louder or warmer than you want. It's also a solid choice for game inventory or character-sheet highlights when you want the element to pop fast.
Pair it with warm off-whites and deep charcoal, and consider adding a border or heavier type for small labels so it doesn't wash out on near-white backgrounds.
