King Neptune
#7794c0
Deeper, clearer periwinkle-purple for oceanic highlights
About King Neptune
King Neptune lands like deep sea light hitting a purple wetsuit: not airy haze, more depth and wet sheen than Moon Veil or Galactic Gossamer. It's cooler than Easter Egg's friendly mist and doesn't slip toward periwinkle the way those can. Compared with the other nearby purples, this one feels less "screen-cleanish" and more intentionally weighty, with a calmer, maritime undertone that reads purple first.
I use it when the UI needs a strong accent that still feels composed beside cool grays, but without the techy lean you'd get from the blue-adjacent end of the family. It shows up in dashboards and finance apps for primary-but-not-dominant states, like selected rows, step indicators, and status pills. It also works for SaaS onboarding flows where you want the one you reach for when callouts need presence, not pastel drift, and for product screenshots that need a single confident purple lane.
Pair it carefully with neutrals that aren't too warm, or it can feel slightly heavier than planned. On bright whites, it holds shape better than the mistier options, but it still prefers cool or neutral backgrounds.
