About Steel Mist

On my screen, Steel Mist reads like a lightly smoked gray that never fully turns chalky. It's a touch cooler than the dusty, muted grays, but it doesn't carry the clear blue lean you'd notice in . Against white panels, it stays grounded, with a steady mid-light value and restrained saturation.

I like using it for dashboards and finance apps where secondary surfaces need structure without tipping into haze. It works well for card backgrounds, table strips, and form-field shells in healthcare web UIs and SaaS admin screens. Compared with , it feels a bit cleaner and more deliberate, less fogged glass. Compared with , it has slightly more presence and less dust, so layouts stay crisp.

Pair it with deeper slate text and borders; with stark whites it can look flatter than you expect, especially next to colder grays.
